- 1 January – The Goods and Services Tax was raised from 8 to 9 per cent.[1]
- 5 January – Four telcos will offer international call blocking services in an attempt to deter scams.[2]
- 9 January – Land Transport Authority announced that EZ-Link cards that had not yet been upgraded to SimplyGo, and Nets Flashpay cards would be deprecated on 1 June 2024.[3][4]
- 12 January – The Central Public Library at the National Library Building at Victoria Street is officially reopened with a marine-themed children's section that is sponsored by S.E.A. Aquarium (which will be reopened as Singapore Oceanarium later this year) and National Library Board. The library also has an AI-inspired storyline booth and areas paying tribute to Singapore's history and culture.[5][6][7][8]
- 18 January – S. Iswaran resigns as Minister for Transport, Member of Parliament for West Coast GRC, and from People's Action Party after being charged with 27 counts relating to bribery and corruption by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau.[9] Chee Hong Tat succeeded Iswaran as Transport Minister, with Grace Fu taking over as Minister-in-Charge of Trade Relations.
- 19 January – Nike Asia's largest sports store in Singapore is officially opened at Orchard Road.
- 22 January
- Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat reverses an initial decision to terminate EZ-Link cards without SimplyGo and NETS FlashPay cards after 1 June, pledging S$40 million to extend the system's lifespan.
- The first Total Defence Day Exercise is announced, simulating disruptions to power and food supplies to commemorate 40 years since the launch of Total Defence. This is whereby the National Day Parade 2024 will be held at the Padang on 9 August for this 40th anniversary of Total Defence commemorations.
- 29 January – Cosford Container Park opens.[10]

- 4 February - The Artground at One Holland Village Mall is officially opened to provide families with children aged 0 to 9 to explore the fun of arts at Holland Village.
- 9 February – Taste Orchard (Formerly occupied as OG Orchard) is officially opened with many varieties of foods from all parts of the world to be served to local Singaporeans and tourists.
- 20–25 February – The Singapore Airshow was held at Changi Exhibition Centre.[11]
- 28 February – Ahmed Salim, a Bangladeshi painter, became the first death row offender executed for murder in Singapore since 2019. He was convicted for killing his Indonesian ex-girlfriend back in 2018.[12]

- 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9 March – Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour was officially held at Singapore National Stadium (Opening Act: Sabrina Carpenter).

- 23 June – The Thomson–East Coast MRT line stage 4 between Tanjong Rhu and Bayshore stations will officially open for service.[13][14]
- September – The Jurong West Bus Package operations would be handed over to SMRT Corporation from SBS Transit spanning Joo Koon and Boon Lay Bus Interchanges and Soon Lee Bus Depot.[15]

- 16 January – Ajit Singh Gill, Singapore’s oldest Olympian. (b. 1928).[17]
- 3 February – Wee Cho Yaw, Singaporean billionaire and United Overseas Bank's longest serving chairman (b. 1929).[18]
- 14 February – Tan Kue Kim, Singaporean chef and restaurateur.[19]
- 1 March – Ch'ng Jit Koon, Former Senior Minister of State and retired politician (b. 1934).[20]
- 2 March – Eugene Wijeysingha, Former Raffles Institution headmaster and historian (b. 1934).[21]
