The 2024 Washington Democratic presidential primary will be held on March 12, 2024, as part of the Democratic Party primaries for the 2024 presidential election. 111 delegates to the Democratic National Convention will be allocated to presidential candidates.[1]
Incumbent President Joe Biden announced on April 25, 2023, his bid for a second term. He faces a primary challenge from author, progressive activist, and 2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson.[2][3]
Candidates[edit]
The Washington Secretary of State announced that they had received the following names to be placed on the March 12 primary ballot (listed alphabetically):[4]
- Joe Biden
- Dean Philips (withdrawn)
- Marianne Williamson
Campaign for "uncommitted delegates"[edit]
After a push for Michigan Democratic primary voters to vote for the "uncommitted delegates" option garnered over 100,000 votes in protest to President Biden's handling of the Israel–Hamas war, momentum for Washington voters by activists and politicians to also select the "uncommitted delegates" option has begun quickly growing.[5]
